Winding back the clock a little to Rachel & Dans glorious sunny wedding at The Tithe Barn. The venue is set in the grounds of the Bolton Abbey estate. It is a grade III listed building that has been lovingly restored to the highest standard. The interior is crafted using oak beams and Yorkshire stone flooring. Dan & Rachel had trusted their venue stylists and florist to decorate the barn using soft pink and neutral tones and textures and it looked absolutely beautiful. Their vision really came to life.

I joined Rachel and the girls early in the morning at a nearby hotel, The Devonshire Arms.  The hotel is just a 5 minute drive away so perfect for bridal prep.  The room was full of excitement as they were all having their hair and make-up done ready for the wedding. Rachels wedding dress was exquisite, with elegant sleeves and delicate lace.  Luckily the sun shone which enabled her to embrace the full length of the dress and train.  |Joining the bridal party was Rachels little flower girl. She had her very own princess dress, the same colour a Rachels wedding dress. Rachel was helped into her dress by her bridesmaids, she was ready nice and early which enabled us to get some beautiful bridal portraits before heading over to the wedding ceremony at the Tithe Barn.

When I arrived at their stunning wedding venue, Dan and the groomsmen were just getting sorted with buttonholes so a great opportunity to capture some photographs of them getting ready for Rachels arrival.  The groomsmen were in matching blue wedding suits with ties and pocket squares which matched the bridesmaids dresses perfectly.

The bridal party arrived in a vintage VW camper van. It escorted all the bridesmaids then headed back to collect Rachel and her Dad.  As all the guests were inside waiting for the arrival of the bride, Dan was waiting patiently at the front of ceremony to greet his bride.  The height of the building and leading lines of the oak beams teamed with the soft warm atmosphere of the venue always provides the most beautiful backdrop for wedding photographs at the Tithe Barn. The aisle is long and gives the bride an extra few seconds on that magical walk down.

Rachel and Dan headed out onto the terrace and through the confetti tunnel, with views out over the breath taking Bolton abbey estate it is perfect for an outdoor drinks reception with a view.

We headed to the famous Bolton Abbey Priory for photographs amongst the ruins. This is something that Dan and Rachel had organised with the estate.  Once there Rachel had surprised Dan with a visit from their gorgeous puppy who came along for pictures.

Once we had got all the photographs we needed, we headed back up to the reception so they could mingle with friends and family before heading inside for the meal.

Each table had a nominated guest to serve the table, each server wore a personalised chefs hat which was such a lovely personal touch. They all tucked into a beautiful homemade Yorkshire feast and then the speeches began. They were filled with lots of love and laughter. I love the stories that are told during speeches, they are one of my most favourite parts of the wedding day.

We were so lucky to be blessed with the prettiest sunset. We popped back out quickly to grab some golden hour wedding photographs. This is something that almost all my couples ask for when booking. They always produce the best results because everyone is fed and much more relaxed later in the day. It’s a great opportunity to take 5 minutes to embrace the day because its true what everyone says, the day passes by so quickly.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this blog. Please get in touch through my contact form if you are getting married at The Tithe Barn and still looking for your photographer.
